FLSA Status: Full-Time / Exempt

Salary: $45,000 - $50,000/year

Remote Status: Not remote. Fully in office during regular business hours.

The Ministry: OurCalling is a ministry specifically focused on the unsheltered homeless community. We operate an outreach center for the homeless community near downtown Dallas. We are passionate about loving and helping the unsheltered homeless transition to better lives. We are a faith-based ministry where every job is a ministry position. Each staff member should be able to clearly share the Gospel and communicate their own testimony. While everyone on the team wears multiple hats, our primary function is getting people off the street and helping them walk with Jesus. We want everything that we do to point to Jesus. We serve 200-400 guests daily. We operate a “zero-barrier” facility that is welcoming and compassionate to all who enter.

Job Summary:

We primarily serve the chronically, unsheltered homeless population. Our homeless friends (Guests) are survivors who have experienced vast amounts of trauma. We use resources, services, and relationships to create opportunities for Gospel-centered conversations. We are strategic in our interactions to demonstrate to our Guests and Volunteers how to live out the truths of the Gospel and let the love of Christ control our actions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team. The HR Generalist will be responsible for performing and/or overseeing various HR functions, including benefits management, document management, recruiting, on-boarding/off-boarding, and day-to-day employee relations (including annual reviews and discipline). This person will report directly to the CPO.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and implement the recruiting process
  • Coordinate and conduct employee orientation and onboarding program
  • Collaborate with supervisors to develop and implement Annual Reviews and Performance Improvement Plans, as needed
  • Assist employees with benefits program
  • Maintain employee records and HR documents in compliance with legal requirement
  • Facilitate the off-boarding process, including exit interviews and paperwork
  • Assist with other HR projects and initiatives as needed

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum Associates Degree required
  • Previous experience working in a faith-based organization highly preferred
  • Experience with Benefits Administration preferred
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • 2+ years experience in Human Resources required
  • 2+ years experience with HRIS (Rippling) preferred
  • 2+ years experience with talent acquisition
  • Proficiency with Google Suite 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • A humble and approachable attitude, professional maturity, and integrity as a trusted team member
  • Taking personal initiative, being flexible in a busy and fast-paced environment
  • A problem solver and effective working across departmental lines 
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Understand that this role is both Human and Resources. It requires both an understanding of both the legal and personal aspects of employment.
